MORE than half a dozen trophies have been handed out on the squash court.

Tyne District Squash and Racketball Club held its annual club championships in Haddington.

In the Open Racketball Handicap final, 13-year-old Jamie Pearman defeated Andrew Light 3-2, winning 11-4 in the fifth game.

Meanwhile, the Ladies’ Racketball Handicap final was a family affair as Phoebe Hamilton took on her 14-year-old sister Isla.

In the end, it was 12-year-old Phoebe who emerged victorious 3-0.

The Open Squash Plate final was an all-adult affair as Andrew Light defeated Gordon Hamilton 3-0.

In the Junior Squash final, Jamie Pearman won 3-0 against David Hunter.

The Ladies’ Squash Handicap final saw Phoebe Hamilton on court again against Chantal Bruce.

Hamilton won the first game 11-1 before Bruce came back to give a good account of herself but eventually faded, losing seven of the last eight points and the match 3-0.

The Open Squash Handicap final saw Light back on court for the third time but this time he faced Dylan Pearman.

Pearman, 18, started at -15, which meant that the final was destined to be long and hard.

Light lost the first game 11-5 but took the second 11-2.

His opponent then won the next two games 11-4 and 11-6 as the energy slowly drained away from Light.

The Ladies’ Squash Final was between Phoebe and Isla Hamilton, who took the first game 17-15.

But Phoebe gradually took control to win the next three games.

Phoebe has managed to win all three of the ladies’ finals at the age.

The Open Final was between Dylan Pearman and Billy Scott.

In what was a tight match, Pearman took the first two games before Scott came back to take the third.

However, Pearman went on to win the next game 16-14 and retain his title from 2021.
