A TALENTED young squash player has stepped on top of the podium in the final Scottish squash gold event of the year.

Phoebe Hamilton was one of five juniors representing Haddington’s Tyne District Squash and Racketball Club in the event over the weekend.

The youngster has previously won the ‘Gold’ events in Inverness and Glasgow in the girls’ under-13s’ category.

Again, she was in dominant form as she won all of her matches 3-0.

She also took the step-up at Edinburgh Sports Club and competed in the girls’ under-15 event, where she came fourth.

Also representing the club were Isla Hamilton, David Hunter, and Jamie and Dylan Pearman.

Junior coaching continues at the club, next to the Aubigny Sports Centre, every Friday from 1.30pm to 4pm and is open to all juniors to give squash a try.

The only requirement is non-marking indoor sport shoes.
