Preston Athletic booked their place in the second round of the William Hill Scottish Cup with a 3-2 win at Nairn County on Saturday.

The East Lothian men made the long journey north, and made a perfect start when Kenny Park scored inside two minutes.

They doubled their advantage with less than quarter of an hour played, as Danny O'Rourke headed home a cross from Liam Todd.

When Scott Barclay scored the Panners' third before the break, they had all-but secured their victory.

The hosts, of the Highland League, brought on Ross Naismith and enjoyed more of the ball in the second half.

They gained a foothold in the match when Naismith beat Preston keeper Craig Pennycuik, and he added a second to ensure a nervy finish.

He nearly added a third late on, but the Panners held out to book their place in the second round draw.

That draw takes place later today (Monday), where clubs from League Two enter the fold.
