A PINT in the sunshine could be on the cards at a Tranent pub.
East Lothian Council’s planning department is considering proposals for a beer garden at The Tower Inn on the town’s Church Street.
A planning application to change an open space to a beer garden with seating area, fencing and gates was submitted by Dominic McNeill.
The community pub, which dates back more than 100 years, had started work on plans for a beer garden to the north.
The part retrospective application notes: “Fence posts were erected as the applicant was unaware of his requirement for planning permission, works have now stopped.”
A decision on the proposals is expected by early June.
