KELBY Mason proved the hero as Tranent lifted the Lowland League Cup after victory over East Kilbride.
The goalkeeper kept the Belters in the penalty shoot-out when he saved from Ryan Lockie and then clinched the cup when he denied Kier Samson.
Tranent, who had lost twice to the Scottish Lowland Football League champions-elect going into the contest, had to do it the hard way at Broadwood Stadium yesterday (Sunday).
Joao Balde opened the scoring for East Kilbride before Dean Brett's corner brought the county side level.
Captain Lockie put East Kilbride back in front before Kallum Higginbotham's effort sent the tie to penalties.
Then, Lady Luck was smiling on Tranent as they came through the shoot-out to lift the trophy.
