A PERSON has died after being struck by a train on the East Coast Mainline near Drem.

LNER took to social media to highlight the tragic incident and warned people there would be delays.

They posted shortly after 1pm to highlight the incident.

They said: “It is with great sadness that we report that a person has been hit by a train between Dunbar and Edinburgh.

“Services are subject to delays when passing in the surrounding area.

“LNER works closely with The Samaritans and The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

The Courier understands that the incident took place near Drem, where several emergency vehicles are in attendance at the village train station.
