BACON rolls, pizza and hot filled pies will soon be on the menu at Longniddry Village Shop.
Permission has been given for part of the business on Kitchener Crescent to be turned into a hot food takeaway.
East Lothian Council’s planning department gave the green light to Falcon Singh Properties Ltd after there were no objections from members of the public or the village’s community council.
A supporting statement was included as part of the application.
The planning officer’s report notes: “It states that the existing shop has served the community of Longniddry for over 100 years and, as a newsagent, it offers a selection of confectionery, teas, coffees, household goods, a small deli offering and includes a parcel delivery service.
“It is proposed to change part of the existing shop to a hot food takeaway which would offer hot filled rolls (i.e. bacon, sausage, black pudding etc.), a variety of soups, hot filled sandwiches and baguettes, hot filled pies and slices of pizza.”
Changes to the building include the replacement of an existing extractor fan and the installation of an extract duct and flue.
