East Lothian’s MSP met with pupils from Preston Lodge High School at an event looking at climate solutions.
The Powering Futures event took place at Musselburgh Grammar School, where pupils from the Prestonpans school worked with teams from across the Lothians to develop projects for sustainability.
The event was also attended by Paul McLennan MSP, who was full of praise for the pupils’ ideas.
He said: “It was great to spend time with the team from Preston Lodge at an event at Musselburgh Grammar School looking at climate solutions.
“They were working alongside teams from across the Lothians on finding and developing projects for sustainability as part of the Powering Futures project.
“The teams had some brilliant ideas for tackling climate crisis and embedding sustainability in society, including water use reduction, social media campaigns, and energy conservation.
“The young folk in East Lothian know their stuff, and I am sure that there are some future climate leaders amongst them. It’s up to us as politicians to encourage, and then to listen and learn.”
