STAFF and visitors to Harlawhill Day Centre in Prestonpans were delighted to receive a beautiful knitted gift this week.
The Knit and Natter group, which meets at Prestonpans Library, made a generous donation of a hand-knitted Easter display to the centre.
The group had initially made the design, which features knitted chicks, rabbits and flowers, to be displayed on a postbox outside, but opted instead to donate it to the day centre due to concerns that bad weather would ruin the display.
A spokesperson for the centre told the Courier: “Everyone absolutely loved the display. It sits proudly in the middle of the centre and we’ll bring it out every Easter.
“We know a lot of hours will have gone into making the design, which looks fantastic, and we are incredibly grateful that the group have chosen to gift it to us. Everyone loved having a look at it and so many of them wanted to buy it!
“But we’ll be keeping it here for everyone to enjoy.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to the Knit and Natter group for the kind donation and can’t wait to display it every year.”
Members of the group visited the centre to drop off the display, meeting staff and users of the centre.
