PRESTON Lodge RFC’s 51-12 victory over Orkney, which ensured they will be National League Division Three champions and promoted to National League Division Two, has been celebrated in a Scottish Parliament motion tabled by South Scotland MSP Martin Whitfield.
Mr Whitfield’s motion highlighted Preston Lodge’s success in defeating their nearest challengers and congratulated the players, coaches, committee and everyone else involved with running and supporting the team on their outstanding success.
Mr Whitfield said: “Preston Lodge RFC enjoys very strong and enthusiastic support from the local community in Prestonpans. The team’s success in being crowned champions and securing promotion has brought real excitement to the town over recent days.
“I know several of the people who have been involved in this outstanding achievement and am delighted to help mark and celebrate their success at Holyrood with this motion.”
