A Musselburgh-based mental health and wellbeing project has had to temporarily pause all services due to a high level of staff absence.

Changes East Lothian, in Market Street, said in a statement: "We are very sorry for the delay and disruption but please be assured we are working as quickly as we can to reopen."

Changes Community Health Project was established in 1996 to promote the positive wellbeing of people living in the county.

"Growing from a local community initiative, over the years Changes has developed a range of tried and tested self-help groups and courses, counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy services, mental health awareness training, together with well supported volunteer opportunities, where volunteers co-facilitate groups and courses and lead the Healthy Living Project activities," it said via its website.

It has informed people: "If you require support at this time, please contact your GP or East Lothian Mental Health Line (CWIC service) on 0300 790 6292 available Monday to Friday - 9am to 4pm. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 999."
