A new 4x4 vehicle has been gifted to Musselburgh Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets.

The Ford Ranger was donated to the unit, TS Indefatigable, by supporter Brian McKay and his team at Gorebridge-based B & D Roofing and Building Ltd.

A spokesperson for the unit said: “Brian and the team have supported the unit for several years now, helping us with a new Trinity 500 rowing boat for the cadets to continue training on the water.”

The company also managed the refurbishment of the unit’s HQ on South Street.

The vehicle will be used as transport for training and events.

“It will also be used for transporting of our boats/equipment and also as a support vehicle with the capacity to go off-road for our new Royal Marines Cadets and cadets doing Duke of Edinburgh expeditions,” said the spokesperson.

“We would like to offer a massive huge thanks to Brian and his team at B & D Roofing and Building Ltd for their continued support to us at Musselburgh Sea Cadets & Royal Marine Cadets,” she added.

She also thanked Mac Signs in Mayfield for branding the vehicle.
