A PLETHORA of entertainment is on offer at The Brunton in Musselburgh from tomorrow (Thursday) to March 1.

Award-winning Clive John pays homage to Johnny Cash’s career as the Man In Black, alongside his iconic wife June Carter (Meghan Thomas), in The Johnny Cash Roadshow tomorrow evening (Thursday) at 7.30pm.

With all the hits such as Walk the Line, Ring of Fire, Get Rhythm, Orange Blossom Special and Boy Named Sue, alongside some of the darker more atmospheric songs from the later American Recordings such as The Man Comes Around and Hurt, this show is an emotional rollercoaster through Cash’s career, packed together in one evening’s entertainment.

The Pasadena Roof Orchestra have been re-creating the sounds of a golden era of music from the 1920s and 1930s to widespread acclaim.

Local fans can enjoy beautifully arranged songs from Irving Berlin, Ray Noble, Cole Porter and their contemporaries on Friday at 7.30pm and relive the electrifying hot jazz from Fletcher Henderson and Duke Ellington.

Jordanian-Palestinian pianist Iyad Sughayer will present a mixture of musical styles at his lunchtime classical concert next Tuesday (February 21), from Mozart’s classical charm and Sibelius’ elusive melancholy to Khachaturian’s lyricism and Schumann’s celebration of a Viennese Festival.

Soup and a sandwich will be served at noon before the 1pm concert.

Tom Hanks stars in The Brunton’s mid-week movie, A Man Called Otto (15) next Wednesday (February 22), at 7.30pm.

Otto is a grump who's given up on life following the loss of his wife and wants to end it all.

When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol, leading to a friendship that will turn his world around.

The National Theatre Live presents a new production of Shakespeare’s most enduring tragedy, Othello, on Thursday, February 23, at 7pm.

Directed by Clint Dyer and filmed live at the National Theatre in London’s West End, the performance will be screened on The Brunton’s Venue 1 cinema screen.

The cast includes Giles Terera (Hamilton), Rosy McEwan (The Alienist) and Paul Hilton (The Inheritance).
