A North Berwick butchers is celebrating success after receiving gold at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards.

Anderson’s Quality Butchers, based on the town’s High Street, claimed the award for its Black Angus sirloin steak in the Naked Steak category.

The butchers is run by Ryan and Moya Anderson and has been a staple of North Berwick since 1989 when founded by Ryan’s father John.

It also claimed numerous awards in the Gourmet Pastry category with gold for its beef, haggis and pepper sauce Wellington and silver for its chicken Kyiv bake, chicken cordon bleu bake, and a pork and black pudding Scotch egg.

Mr Anderson was delighted to be presented with his awards at the recent regional meeting at Carfraemill Hotel in the Scottish Borders, held by event organisers Scottish Craft Butchers.

The butchers also claimed a silver award for its sirloin steak, rounding off a great awards ceremony for the company.
