A NEAR-£100,000 cash boost for a group’s ambitious plans for land off Dunbar High Street has been highlighted in the Scottish Parliament.
The Ridge was awarded £98,548 by the Scottish Land Fund as the group continues its work in the Backlands.
Paul McLennan, MSP for East Lothian and a former Dunbar and East Linton ward councillor on East Lothian Council, highlighted the development in a motion to the Scottish Parliament.
It reads: “That the Parliament congratulates The Ridge, Dunbar, for securing £98,548 from the Scottish Land Fund; understands that this funding is to purchase Empire Close in Dunbar, in order to continue to offer various services from the site, including a community training garden, and acknowledges the services that The Ridge provides in training and support for the Dunbar community, with plans to also construct a skills training centre and reopen an historic walking route.”
