Get your bags packed and passports ready because Australia's borders are about to reopen to tourists after two long years.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began in March 2020, Australia has had a strict entry policy in place which meant the country was closed to visitors.

Exemptions were only in place for Australian citizens, permanent residents and immediate family members of Australian citizens or permanent residents.

But travellers can rejoice since the country is set to open the doors to vaccinated tourists and other visa holders from February 21, 2022.

Unvaccinated visa holders will still need a valid travel exemption to enter Australia.
